In this Childbirth Educator Certification, you will explore key topics to teach along with curriculum building methods through our robust multi-media library and video lectures. All books and supporting materials relevant to the class are included. In this online course you can begin immediately, taking the classes on your own time with this online platform. You can also join one of our study retreats to get the information in person.

The Motherships Childbirth Educator

The Motherships Childbirth educator certification program will give you the tools to create curriculum, plan demonstrations, create culturally relevant materials and support parents in the effective use of Wholistic relaxation methods.

Topics Covered

This certification class is loaded with goodies the childbirth education certification will place you in position to teach different learning styles, various womb topics and help to give mom a sense of security because they will be well informed.  Together we will explore:

Certification Requirements 

The Childbirth Educator Certification Program of The Mothership Institute of Womb Wellness and Wholistic Health strives to certify students who are equipped to address the questions and various ways that women evolve in their worlds. To be a serious women's health facilitator, serious research and extensive study is expected.
 
Completing this certification requires: 1. Completion of the core curriculum course.
2. Writing a review of a Childbirth based book, researching hospital policies in your area that specifically effects Black Women, and critiquing a podcast, article or video based upon womb health.
3. Facilitating 3 childbirth education classes and writing the 3 class reviews (please include class participant testimonies.) 

Iya Abiye Mawusi Ashshakir CLC, WBD, CBE, Traditional Midwife, Guardian Director

Iya Abiye Mawusi Ashshakir has been supporting women in the birthwork for 25 years and was initiated in birthwork and given the title Iya Abiye in 2015. Apprentice trained Traditional Midwife by Nana Siti Opio - Iya Abiye Mawusi's feet are grounded in tradition. She is also a certified childbirth educator, lactation consultant and wholistic birth doula. She founded The Mothership Institute in 2001 but the business was filed in 2008. The Mothership Institute was founded to address infant and maternal health disparities in her community.  The Mothership has expanded from doula training to five additional certification programs, training over 900 birth professionals across the globe to advance community-based birthwork.

This class made me a more effective doula and has broadened my offerings.  I can better prepare my mothers for natural birth.
